Blake Skincare

I'd conceived a brand, so needed to devise and write relevant advertising content for it. I was a men's grooming advisor to one of the world's most famous department stores in a former life, and beauty (in all its forms) is one of my areas of interest.

When it came to branding, I originally chose the name 'Blöke' because it made me laugh (v. easy to do) but felt the umlaut would contradict my imaginary brand's Britishness.

After some research, I learned 'Blake' is derived from Old English for swarthy, dark or fair, which works well with the product line. I was absolutely not inspired by 'Dynasty'. Dammit, Alexis.
